The Last Word on Valentine's Day

In all honesty, what really is the point of Valentine's Day?
It no longer represents the bravery of Saint Valentine from ancient Rome, nor does it symbolize the traditions or customs of past societies.
Valentine's Day has become a commercial holiday.  For people in a relationship, there is too much pressure, and for sngle people, it reminds you of how "sad" your life is.
Valentine's Day should not be a day to either feel bad about yourself or go crazy with gifts.  It's a day that should remind everyone it's nice to get people you care about presents.
It should make people remember that random acts of kindness throughout the year trump one day of endless boxes of chocolate.
